DOROTHY HILDRETH RACE (PENTNEY) Dorothy Hildreth Race passed away on October 8, 2001 in the Kenora General Hospital. Dorothy was born on Aug. 4, 1911 in Manitou Minnesota, USA the third child of Lily Anna and Ernest Pentney. She was predeceased by her husband K.O. "Bones" Race; son Dally; infant granddaughters, Mary Ellen Jamieson and Baby Race; grandson Dallas Sweeney; by sisters, Edie and Elsie; and brothers, Ernest, Don and Gordon. Dorothy is survived by daughters, Merle (Allan) Jamieson of Redditt, Heather (Bill) Vialoux of Kakabeka Falls, Doris (Wilf) Sweeney of Castlegar, BC; sons, David Race of Kenora and Ken (Lenore) Race of Redditt; brothers, Richard Pentney of Oliver, BC and David Pentney of Thunder Bay, ON. She has two granddaughters and four grandsons, five great-granddaughters and one great-grandson. She will be sorely missed. The family wishes to express thanks to the staff of the Birchwood Terrace nursing home and the nursing staff of 3 east at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital for the excellent care and compassion shown to Dorothy. At Moms request cremation has taken place and there will be a family service at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations to Lake of the Woods District Hospital Foundation 21 Sylvan St. W., Kenora, ON, P9N 3W7 or a charity of choice would be greatly appreciated.
