Born: Feb 25, 1912
Date of Passing: Oct 14, 2001
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN ADAIR PRESTON (nee FRASER) February 25, 1912 - October 14, 2001 Jean slipped away quietly on Sunday evening at Prairie View Lodge in Pilot Mound, MB. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Milford; daughter, Dory; brother, Geordie Fraser; and sister, Doris Rands. Surviving Jean are her son, John; daughter, Alison (Bruce Gillespie) grandchildren, Max and Zeke Preston; and many nieces and nephews. Jean was born and raised in the Floral District near Pilot Mound. She graduated with an Arts degree from United College in 1933, and went on to Normal School in Saskatoon. For many years Art and Jean taught school in southwestern MB, before moving to Winnipeg (Norwood) to raise their family. Jean went back to teaching once her kids were in school and then to the public library system. She ended her working years as librarian for the Federal Department of Agriculture. The cottage at Victoria Beach was very special to her. Jean and Art welcomed many friends and relatives there through the years. We will remember her in our hearts for the kind and gentle person that she was. And so important to us: she enjoyed a good laugh right up until her final days. At Jeans request, there will be no service. We would like to thank the staff of Prairie View Lodge for the loving care they gave our mother. Donations may be made in her memory to Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St. Winnipeg, MB. R3B 2H8. Rest in Peace, Mum.
