FRANCES HELEN FRASER RAGLAN Suddenly, after a fall while under care at the Riverview Health Centre and a subsequent rapid decline, Frances Raglan passed away on Friday, October 26, 2001. A woman of great spirit and kindness, Frances in her latter years fought valiantly against cancer but continued to enjoyed many facets of life until the end. Frances will be dearly missed by her devoted children, Rex, Moira and Mimi; their partners Linda, Terry and Blake; and by her little grandson Sean. Frances Helen Fraser Milton was born in Norwood, St-Boniface on December 13, 1914. Her father, Sgt. Thomas Milton of the Black Watch had already been called to active duty on the front lines at the outset of the First World War. The family returned to Ardersier, Scotland only to discover he had been killed in action, sadly never having seen Frances. Four years later, her beloved mother Fanny Fraser Milton, her older siblings Fraser and Marion and four year old Frances, settled in Norwood. She married Walter William Raglan in 1941 and raised her three children in the Riverview area of Winnipeg. She loved her yard at Oakwood where she planted many beautiful flowers and trees. Frances worked part time at Eatons for many years where she made numerous friends. An avid fan of the arts, Frances, often with her dear sister Marion, regularly attended MTC, opera and concerts. True to her Scottish heritage, she belonged to the Robbie Burns Society in homage to her favourite poet. A special thank you to nurse Gilda, support workers Margaret, Barb, Heather and those others who took time to treat Frances with care and kindness. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, October 30 at 1:00 p.m. in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. "If thou canst get but thither, There grows the flower of peace, The rose that cannot wither, Thy fortress and thy ease. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
