Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGUNNARD (GUNNER) CHARLES THOMAS January 25, 1927 - November 1, 2001 Peacefully on Thursday, November 1, 2001, at the Concordia Hospital, Gunner Thomas of Peguis First Nations, MB, beloved father, grandfather, uncle and friend, departed on his journey to be with Our Creator. Gunner will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed. In his passing, he leaves daughter Gloria Jean Courtoreille (Edward), grand-children, Andrea Courtoreille (Brian Wilson), Rene Courtoreille (Angela Bear), and great-granddaughter Alix; daughter Karen Sinclair, grandsons, Cody, Kirk and Shane Sinclair; special niece Nadine Thomas affectionately called "Tweeter" by Uncle Gunner; other family members: sister-in-law Elder Myrtle Thomas, Barbara Bair (Melvin), Reginald Thomas, Wanda Thomas (Victor McLeod). Acknowledgements to the men who worked in the bushcamp with Gunner, Russel Bear, Freddie Spence, Allan Govereau and Arnold Spence (Stumpy). Pallbearers are Rene Courtoreille, Reginald Thomas, Gunner Greyeyes, Ron Piette Jr., Kelvin Greyeyes and Brent Zacharow. Miigwetch to staff at the Concordia Hospital. A wake service was held at Favells Chapel in Peguis at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 5. The funeral service will be held at St. Peters Church, also in Peguis, on Tuesday, November 6 at 2:00 p.m.
