ANDREW and MARGARET PURA (RAROG) It is with deep sorrow that the families of Peter and Nellie Pura and Ted and Zofia Rarog of Winnipeg, MB announce the untimely accidental deaths of their children Dr. Andrew and Margaret Pura (Rarog) of Oakville, ON, on Friday, November 9, 2001. Andrew and Margaret were married at Holy Ghost Church, Winnipeg, on September 22, 1990 and shortly thereafter moved to Oakville where Andrew practiced medicine at the Queensway Clinic (Etobicoke) and the Oak Park Medical Centre (Oakville), while Margaret taught in the Catholic Separate School System at St. Matthews School (Mississauga). A memorial celebration of their lives was held on Thursday, November 15 at 7:00 p.m. at Scott Funeral Home, Mississauga Chapel, 420 Dundas St. East, (West of Cawthra) in Mississauga, ON. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Ghost Church, Winnipeg on Tuesday, November 20 at 8:00 p.m. Private family burial to take place the following day. Flowers are gratefully declined. MARGARET PURA (RAROG) Margaret will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her parents, Ted and Zofia Rarog; her sister Alicja Rarog; brothers, Mark (Debra) and Mitch (Ginny), beautiful nieces, Maya and Lexie, and her dog Blitz. She leaves to mourn her grandmothers and many cousins. Margaret was born in 1967 and raised in Winnipeg. She attended West Kildonan Collegiate, followed by the University of Manitoba, where she obtained a B.Ed. and a Cert. in Special Education. She obtained her M.Ed. from the University of Toronto in 1996. She loved children and teaching, and was currently completing administration courses in pursuit of a career as a principal. Margaret was beautiful both inside and out, and made many close friends everywhere she went. She was deeply devoted to her family and generous to a fault with both her love and her time. She had a great zest for life, loved to travel and try new things. When not shopping, Margaret could be seen planting flowers in the ravine. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. DR. ANDREW PURA, M.D. Andrew will always be remembered in the hearts of his parents Peter and Nellie Pura; his sisters, Cathy McElhoes (Randy) and Mary-Ann Fast (Tim) his brothers, Mike Pura (Heather) and Peter Pura; his aunts, Marie Danyluk (Pura) and Sr. Gerarda Pura O.S.B.; his nephews, Jason, Ryan and Brendan McElhoes, Nicolas and Luke Pura; nieces, Heather and Paula Fast, his many friends, patients and Medical colleagues. Andrew was born in Winnipeg on January 7, 1964. He attended Holy Ghost School and St. Pauls High School in Winnipeg and obtained his Bachelor of Science and Medical degrees from the University of Manitoba. Andrew was a passionate person who lived life to its fullest. He was always planning some adventure and took advantage of every opportunity to travel extensively. At a very early age, Andrew decided that he was going to be a doctor and he worked very hard to achieve this goal. Andrew was known for his dedication to the medical profession and to the patients under his care. He will be remembered for his great sense of humour, his playful nature and his incredible sense of compassion. Andrew loved sports and spent much of his youth excelling in soccer and football. As an adult, he enjoyed skiing, golfing, cycling, riding his motorcycle and taking Blitz for walks. He loved the outdoors and greatly enjoyed spending time at the family cottage. Andrew adored his nieces and nephews and took every opportunity to play with them and make them feel special. Family was of utmost importance to Andrew and he took every opportunity to tell us all how much he loved us. He was a kind and loving son, brother, uncle and nephew. Andrew cared deeply for his family and friends and will be greatly missed. May they rest in peace. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
