SUGANDHA RAMAN Sugandha Raman, 81, beloved wife of the late Rev. P.K. Raman; sister of Suvarna Ratnam Darsi and Vassey Isiah; Aunty of Manju, Mazlin, Peter and Paul; Great Aunty of Shalini and Sareena, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 16, 2001. Heartfelt thanks to the MICU staff of the Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre, family and friends by her bedside. As a devout Christian she spent her life serving the Lord Jesus Christ. Born and raised in India, she was a school teacher till she came to Winnipeg in 1957. In Winnipeg she worked at the Misericordia Hospital for 15 years. She was involved in church activities such as Sunday School, and the Asian Fellowship at the Calvary Temple and other churches. She was also very much involved with the people of Asian-Indian origin. Aunty Raman as she was fondly known, will be missed by family and friends. The love and presence of our aunty cannot be measured and we feel deeply the emptiness created by her passing away. However, we are thankful for the times we were able to share her life, her faith and hope of her savior Lord Jesus Christ. Viewing will be on Wednesday from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at the Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook St. Viewing will also take place on Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the funeral service. Funeral service on Thursday, November 22, 11:00 a.m. at the Calvary Temple, 400 Hargrave St., Winnipeg, with the Rev. H. H. Barber officiating, followed by interment at the St. Vital Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband the late Rev. P.K. Raman.
