ETHEL (WOLITZER) POTASH Peacefully on Friday, November 16, 2001, Ethel passed away. Ethel was born in Poland and ventured to Canada alone as a young woman of 19. She lost all the members of her immediate family during the Holocaust, except for her brother Lawrence who predeceased her in 1965. Ethel was also predeceased by husbands, Henry Wolitzer 1967, Harry Applebaum 1970 and Jacob Potash 1987. She is lovingly remembered and missed by her son Leo and daughter-in-law Carol Wolitzer. Ethel was a very unique caring and loving woman who along with her husband Henry Wolitzer sponsored a number of families to Canada and embraced them as her own family. She was very active in the Winnipeg Jewish Community and spoke six languages, some of which were self taught. Ethel was a grand lady who will be sorely missed by many people. Funeral services to honour Ethel were held on Monday, November 19, at the Rosh Pina Synagogue, with interment at Rosh Pina Cemetery. Donations in her memory gratefully accepted to the charity of your choice.
