GORDON CHARLES PREUN It is with profound sadness that I announce the death of my beloved husband, Gord, on Friday, December 7, 2001, at the age of 38. In the brief two and a half years that we spent together, we shared many wonderful memories. Gord was a selfless, thoughtful, caring, and romantic husband and friend. He was always there for me as my sounding board and "pin cushion". Gord had such zest and enthusiasm for life. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting trips with his cousins and friends. He and I enjoyed roller blading, cycling, going for walks, and hiking in the summer. Gord and I were married at his uncles farm near Selkirk on June 30, 2001. Shortly thereafter, we bought a home in Charleswood. He underwent his second surgery for brain cancer on September 13. From that point on, his health steadily deteriorated. His last wish was to die at home surrounded by the love and support of his family and friends. The treatment for his cancer was a daily reminder that life should be lived to the fullest. Gord is also survived by his stepson Brennan, and his twin children, Stephanie and Karl, who adored their father. Sincere appreciation and gratitude are extended to all the medical staff at the Health Sciences Centre, Oncology Department, surgeon Dr. Michael West, Orit Weber (Social Worker), Kim Paradowsky (brain tumour nurse), Doug Penner (pharmacist), the staff at Kids Can Cope, and the staff and home care workers from the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and the Riverview Palliative Care Unit. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 11 (today), at 2:00 p.m. in St. Margarets Roman Catholic Church in Little Britain, near Selkirk. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in Gords memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB. Gord, you will always be remembered for your enduring love, courage and inner strength. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
