ERWIN RADEKE In the night from the 7th to the 8th of November, 2001, Erwin Waldemar Artur Radeke passed away suddenly in his apartment. He is survived by his nephews John and Steven Gauci of Hudson Falls and Glen Falls, N.Y., and by a sister in Frankfurt, Germany, whom he had visited just recently. Erwin was born on October 9, 1919, at Frankfurt. After coming to Winnipeg about 50 years ago, he carried on business as a painting contractor. A member of the German Society of Winnipeg he served on its executive for 25 years and was widely known and loved for his gentle nature and for his service as "Hausvater" of the club house. Cremation has taken place. An informal gathering of his friends will be held in the upper hall of the German Society of Winnipeg, Charles and Flora, at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 14. A memorial service will be held at a later date in January.
