ELSIE OLGA THOMPSON (nee BELBAS) It is with much love and sadness that we annouce the sudden passing of our mother and grandmother Elsie Thompson on Friday, December 14, 2001 at the age of 71 years. Elsie was predeceased by her husband Eric in 1994, whom she missed terribly; as well as her parents, William and Anna; her stepmother Stella; and her brother Brian. She is survived by her three sons, Bill (Carol) Alan (Janet) and their children, Matthew and Kyle; Nick (Alaina) and their children, Graham and Devan, all of Winnipeg; three sisters, Mary Odette of Kitchener, ON, Lil Weissig (Wally) of Abbotsford, BC, and Bev Konchuk of Winnipeg; numerous nieces, nephews, other family, her close friend Olga, and her many friends at the Kiwanis Centre. Elsie was born on April 23, 1930 in Transcona where she lived her life. Everywhere she went, she would meet someone she knew. She was employed at Princess Auto from 1975 to 1987. Since 1979, she was the on-site manager at the Kiwanis Centre where she made her home. Friends could, and did, drop in anytime. The coffee was always on. Elsie will be remembered for her generous spirit. She was always willing to lend her support to family and friends whenever and however she could. If you needed something, Mom probably had it. We will all miss her "Baba Bags". She was proud of her family, her grandchildren and her Ukrainian heritage. Her big laugh will forever echo in our hearts. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Gree9 at 10:00 a.m., with the Rev. Fr. Michael Krochuk officiating. Intn Acres Funeral Home, Hwy. No. 1 East at Green Acres Lane, on Wednesday, December 1erment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens.
