ERNEST (ERNIE) CHARLES PRUDEN It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear "Papa" Ernie on December 27, 2001 at the Grace General Hospital. Ernie will be sadly missed but forever remembered with love by his wife Margaret (nee Bergen), son Glen (Carol), stepchildren, Melinda (Dennis), Ed, Brenda (Neil), Robert (Michelle), Dawn and Pat; grandchildren, Angi (Bob), Tamara (Adam), Colby (Erin), Bree, Laine, Lindsey, Randi, Kaitlynn, Mark and Michael; many nieces, nephews, brothers, sisters, relatives and friends. He will also be sadly missed by his great-grandchildren, Brolin, Jordyn, and Ella who were his special joys; and his constant and loyal companion Pepper. Ernie was the first born child of Lena and Donald. He was born in North Battleford, SK in 1920. He served Canada in the Second World War overseas as part of the Lake Superior Regiment. He later spent many years mining in Red Lake, ON. In his last years he married and started a joyous life with his soul mate Margaret. He enjoyed friends and cards at the Gordon Howard and the Army and Navy. He took on a whole new family and was the perfect fit. He took pleasure in courting his wife, travelling and family gatherings. Prayers will be held Tuesday, January 1 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Gilbarts Funeral Home, 309 Eveline St., Selkirk, MB. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 2 at 2:00 p.m. at Selkirk Community Church, 210 Main St., Selkirk. Pallbearers will be Henry Dueck, Ken Dueck, Jeff Dueck, Murray Wahl, Neil Regier, and Rob Gobiel. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to a charity of ones choice in Ernies memory. His love, kindness, warmth and humour touched everyone and earned him a special place in everybodys heart. He will remain in our hearts forever. We miss you Papa. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
