Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN POLISCHTAK Peacefully, on Tuesday, January 8, 2002 at the Maples Personal Care Home, John Polischtak, passed away at the age of 93. He is survived by his loving wife Anne of 73 years; son Michael and daughter-in-law Bernice; daughter Helen Quinn; four grandchildren, John Quinn, Richard Quinn, Michael Quinn (Charmaine) and Tracy Douglas; great-grandchildren, Justin, Jesse and Kayla Douglas, Mikaila and Diana Quinn; sister Olga Alex and brother Walter Paul. He was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Anne; sister Mary; brother Norman and son-in-law John Quinn. John was born on July 3, 1908 in Winnipeg. He grew up in the north end and prior to 1952 worked as a manager at Gibsons Bowling Alley for 25 years. In 1952, Anne and John left Winnipeg for the U.S.A. to pursue a career in the hotel management business. They travelled extensively and retired back to Winnipeg in 1986. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held on Friday, January 11, at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. In lieu of flowers, the family would gratefully appreciate donations in memory of John to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 2B7.
