Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHERESA PROKOP (SOROKOWSKI) Peacefully, with family at her side in St. Josephs Residence, Theresa passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2002 at the age of 89. Theresa was born on April 22, 1912 in Meleb, MB. She moved to Winnipeg with her husband Nick in 1972, retiring after farming in Rembrandt, MB for 40 years. She leaves to mourn her passing her daughters, Mary Woytowich of Winnipeg, Elsie (Lawrence Serediak) of Vegreville, AB, Elizabeth (Paul Nanka) of Richer, MB, Jean (Eddy Kemash) of Winnipeg; sons, Steve (Grace) of Winnipeg, Bill (Irene) of Winnipeg, Tony (Rose) of Gimli, MB; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Katie (Bill Mudray) of Winnipeg, Jessie Bateman of Beamsville, ON.; brother Bill Sorokowski of Arborg, MB. She was predeceased by her husband Nicholas; son Danny; parents, John and Marie; brother Ludwig and sister-in-law Olga; sister Pauline and brother-in-law Peter Chobotiuk; sister-in-law Wanda Sorokowski; granddaughter Denise Nanka; and son-in-law Alex Woytowich. The family would like to thank Dr. Chung and staff at St. Josephs Residence for their compassionate care. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, January 23 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 24 at 10:30 a.m. at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, Rembrandt, with Deacon Harry Chuckry officiating. Interment to follow in the churchyard cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Stanley Prokop, Patrick Nanka, Edward Kemash, great-grandson Jason Haines, grandsons-in-law, Gill Gautron and Len Heft.
