Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELSIE MARION PRENDERGAST (nee BERG) It is with deep sorrow that after months of failing health from a stroke that Elsie Prendergast has passed away on February 13, 2002. Elsie was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Sophia Berg; her brothers, Arthur and Ken Berg; and sister Ruth Barkwell. Elsie will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Marni Olson, Kathryn Skorianz; grandchildren, Rebecca Wilkins (Steven), Michael and Matthew Skorianz; great-grandson Christopher Wilkins; special foster grand-daughters, Courtney, Jessica, Becky and Rena; brothers, Alec Berg, Peter Berg (Millie) sister Edith McDowell; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Elsie was born April 5, 1925 in Inwood, MB and was raised there. She worked for a number of years as a stenographer. She married Gordon Prendergast in 1952 and raised two daughters. She later worked as a chemical abuse counsellor for A.F.M. for 17 years before retiring. Elsie loved to sing and sang in the Scandinavian Choir for a time. She loved life to the fullest and had a great sense of humour. She gave endlessly of herself to family and friends and loved family gatherings. She loved to crochet and knit for grandchildren and right up to the end her eyes lit up at the mention of ice cream. Her daughters would like to thank the Deer Lodge staff on 2 East for their wonderful care to Mom. To Eve and Gerry for their love and caring, for watching out for Mom, for their voices when Mom couldnt speak for herself and for keeping us informed - we will never forget you. To Herb - for your love and devotion. To Carl - for his endless hours of visits. To Mel - for bringing back Hogan. To Linda Sue - thank-you for everything. To Ron - for lifting Mom one more time. And to those who helped us through the last six months. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made at the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301 - 352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 19 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Reception Centre. Interment will take place in Inwood, MB. Pallbearers will be Ken Berg, Ron Smokal, Rebecca Wilkins, Steven Wilkins, Michael and Matthew Skorianz.
