Date of Passing: Feb 22, 2002
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANK BECKETT Suddenly on February 22, 2002. Frank was born March 20, 1927 and grew up in Morse Place where he attended neighbourhoods schools. He worked at the Canadian National Railway for 42 years until his retirement in 1985. Frank was predeceased by his wife Sheila and his parents, Frank Sr. and Jessie Beckett. He is survived by his sons, David (Robin), Kenneth (Barbara) and daughter Joan (Juliuz) and grandsons, Patrick, Thomas, Andrew and Ian. As a resident of Morse Place, Frank participated in the coaching of hockey, soccer and baseball at the local community club. It was always important to him that anyone who was on a team he coached would have the chance to play; a value that all his children keep with them. He knew the importance of education and he supported his children in all their pursuits in this area. During his retirement he had time to indulge in his passion for the game of bridge. A talented player he always remained modest about his masters points. He had a special fondness for his grandchildren and encouraged in them a love for reading, collecting and "geography lessons." A memorial service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 28 at Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. In lieu of flowers the family encourages donations to a charity of choice.
