HELEN PROSAK (nee SYDOR) The family sadly announces the passing of Helen Prosak on Thursday, February 28, 2002 at Beacon Hill Lodge. Mom was born on March 13, 1919 in Poland, and came to Canada at the age of ten. In 1942, she met and married her husband Nick Prosak. They moved to Shoal Lake District in 1948, where they farmed until they moved to Winnipeg in 1962. In 1963, they joined the Holy Eucharist Church, where Helen worked with the U.C.W.L., enjoying every minute of it. Mom was so happy and thankful to God for her five children that they were all healthy and happy. We were a very close family, we prayed and played and worked together always. Mom used to say I am the happiest mother in the whole world. Helen was predeceased by her brothers, Nick and Paul; father Andrew; mother Julianna; and by her husband Nick, who passed away in 1990. Left to mourn are her five children, Leslie (Kathy), Jeanette (Clayton), Ernie (Lynn), Marie and Mervin; five grandchildren, Tyler (Nancy), Conrad (Veronica), Tanya (Gary), Chris and Scott (Andrea) four great-grandchildren, Katie, Nick, Brailee, Vanyel; her sister Jean and many nieces and nephews. The family wish to thank Dr. Martens, the staff at Holy Family and Beacon Hill Lodge for all their help and support. Prayers will be said Tuesday, March 5 at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Watt St. and Munroe Ave. with Msgr. Darren Kawiuk officiating. Prayers will also be said on Thursday evening, March 7 at 7:00 p.m. in Shoal Lake, MB. Interment will follow in Shoal Lake Cemetery on Friday, March 8, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Helens memory be made to CancerCare Manitoba, P.O. Box 2248, Station Main, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 9Z9. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
