ROY PRICE 1930-2002 With heavy hearts and deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, Roy Price on Monday, March 4, 2002 at the Health Science Centre from complications of a stroke suffered three short weeks ago, surrounded by family at his bedside. Roy was born, raised and lived in Point Douglas of his beloved North End of Winnipeg, all his life. He attended its historic Norquay School, then St. Johns High School and later the University of Manitoba School of Art for a short term. He had various jobs until he finally settled into a job with the Government of Canada at Customs where he learned the many discrepancies of life. As he couldnt philosophically live with the many concepts, he started a business: Harmony Music, that was very successful and contributed greatly to a more competitive scene and to his own entrepreneurial spirit. He was also a working musician, playing various instruments and leading a small band for a number of early years. His lastly musical love, however, was the piano. He was also a very gifted composer of both lyrics and music of popular songs, as well as a hobby writer of fiction and poetry. He also used his talents with the Fine Arts that he had studied. He leaves behind his wife of 40 years Margaret, whom he adored, and his daughters, Pat (Lyle) Malynyk, Pam (Dave) Johnson, Paula (Rob) Stutsky, Penny (Kelvin Maloney) Price, and son Peter, to whom he instilled or tried to instill some of his moral principles and his rage at some of the injustices and inequities in the world. He also leaves behind four grandchildren, Jessica Malynyk, Victoria Stutsky and Justin and Riley Johnson. "Papa, we love you so much, wed share our very last cookie with you (even our favourite kind!) - well miss helping you blow out your birthday candles and eating cake, playing catch, getting your cookies and milk, but most of all well miss you, Love, Jessica and Victoria, your little Princesses". Roy also leaves behind his lifetime family friend, Joseph Hrycaj, who has resided with the family for over 40 years. Roy was predeceased by his mother Jean Price (Molinski) in 1961 and his father William Price in 1982. Roy, all his life, had an unerring sense of humour and reality and in the end he wished it to be said that with his passing, the world probably loses nothing. But when looking into a starry night, he wished that some would take an extra look at the twinkling stars...for a particle of one star could be a part of Roy Price---winking. Prayers will be held on Thursday, March 7 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 8 at 10:30 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be friends, Paul Ruta, Don Marshall, Randy Kushnir, cousin Raymond Paseshnik, brother-in-law, Ray Moroz, son-in-law, Lyle Malynyk and son Peter Price. Heartfelt thanks and appreciation are extended by the family to staff of GD4 at the Health Sciences Centre for the care and compassion during Roys illness and to family and friends for their ongoing support. If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours. -Thoreau VICHNAYA PAMYAT CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
