WESLEY P. QUINN 1912 - 2002 Peacefully on March 19, 2002, Wesley Quinn passed away at the age of 89 years. Wes was born in Wolseley, SK on November 22, 1912, the youngest son of Ben and Kate Quinn. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Charley, George and Jim; sister Dorothy; and first wife Margaret (1975). Wes leaves to mourn his passing and to cherish is memory his wife Lois; sons, James Wesley (Laverna) and Clifford Michael (Sue) granddaughters, Tanya and Patricia; and great-grandson Sheldon; stepdaughter Patricia (Edward) stepson Bruce; granddaughters, Debra (Mark) and Angela (Sheldon) grandson Michael; and great-grandsons, Devin, Joshua and Mathew. Wes will be remembered as a well respected member of the Manitoba Construction fraternity. His career spanned over four decades leading back to the 1930s. Over the years he worked for Williams Engineering, Maple Leaf Construction, Marathon Paper Mills and finally with J.S. Quinn Construction for 25 years as Secretary Treasurer. When he retired, Wes was active in the Thistle Senior Curling and Social Club and was on the executive board for 20 years. Wes enjoyed curling and golfing with the Civic-Cal senior group as well as lawn bowling and playing cards. Wes was a truly courageous man who fought his illness for many years. He will be remembered as a gentle caring, father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He will be forever in our hearts and is now at peace. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Robert and Susan Taylor and to the staff of the Charleswood Care Centre for helping the family through this difficult time. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 23 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment to follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Wes memory to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1P6. I shall pass through this world but once Any good therefore, that I can do Or any kindness that I can show To any fellow creature let me do it now.
