VALDINA JOHANNA THORSTEINSON Suddenly, on Monday, March 25, 2002 at the Johnson Memorial Hospital, Gimli, our beloved mother, Valdina Johanna Thorsteinson passed away at the age of 86 years. Left to cherish Valdinas memory are her children, Carl (K.Gayl), Rosalie (Roy) Severn, Tanis (Mark) Carlow, Paula Venton and Penny (Barry) Dzydz. Always so special in Ammas heart were her 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Besides her loving children, Valdina leaves to mourn her passing sisters, Inga Evans, Amy McDonald, Lorna Holtzman and brother Baldwin (Florence) along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Valdina was predeceased by her her husband Johann (Joe) parents, Johannes and Lilja Jonasson; brothers, Joe and Oscar and sister Sigurlin Bergen and great-granddaughter Meagen Valdina in infancy. Moms genuine love and the devotion that she showed to her children and family will always be remembered. Her beautiful garden, her love for music and playing the piano are just some of the memories we have of Valdina. Wherever she lived she made a house into a "home", where the coffee pot was always on and all could enjoy her Iclelandic hospitality. Your love will be in our hearts forever. godda nott mom. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 30 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli. Cremation will follow and the interment will be held in the summer in Riverton, MB.
