MARIE THERESE SUZANNE POIRIER (nee ARNAL) June 3, 1915 - April 14, 2002 Peacefully, on Sunday, April 14, 2002, Marie, beloved wife of the late Cyril Poirier, passed away at the Riverview Health Centre. She leaves to cherish her memory, her three daughters, Renee Alarie, Deanne Andre and Lorraine (Gerald) Moquin and one son Robert, as well as eight grandchildren, Gisele, Yvette, Shauna, Sherry, April, Cory, Michael and Kristyn; seven great-grandchildren, Brianne, Ryan, Jordan, Madison, Paige, Mikenna and Diana; her special sister Yvette Bernardin; and her special friend Val Barros, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Marie was predeceased by her parents, Odilon and Suzanne Arnal; her grandson Denis Alarie; her son-in-law Robert Alarie; her sisters, Marguerite, Juliette, Alice and Germaine and her brother Andre. Marie was a person who enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved to have fun and enjoyed dancing, playing cards and spending time with friends. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were very special to her. Prayers will be held on Thursday, April 18 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 250 Burrin Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 19 at 10:00 a.m., also at the Church, with Rev. Fr. Terance P. McGrath officiating. A private interment will follow in Haywood, MB. Pallbearers will be her son-in-law Gerald and her grandchildren. Marie chose to continue living life the way she always had in spite of her illness. She was very courageous, particularly at the very end. A special thank you to Maries Palliative Care Team, Christine Newell, Co-ordinator; homecare workers: Joanne, Sabina, Onnie, Kathy, Teresita and Lydia and her nurse Myrna for their support and compassion. The family also wishes to thank the staff at Riverview Health Centre for their excellent care during Maries short stay. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Maries memory to CancerCare Manitoba or the Diabetes Foundation of Manitoba. We think of her in silence, No eyes can see us weep; But still within our aching hearts Her memory we will keep. We love you, Mom CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
