LEONARD STANLEY THOMAS It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Leonard Stanley (Lennox) Thomas of Peguis First Nation, on April 22, 2002, at the age of 56 years. Leonard leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 35 years, Gladys; his children, Karen (Keith), Barbara (Daniel), and Gary; four grandchildren, Robin, Harley, Diamond, and Cheyenne; sisters, Gladys Favel, Edith McCorrister, and Agnes Mallett; brothers, Gordon (Annabelle), Oswald (Freda), Albert, and Elmer (Gladys) special niece "Chuckie" (John) Mann; sisters-in-law, Florence Sutherland, Marjorie (Clarence) Sinclair, Verna (Chris) Stranger, Margaret Spence, and Audrey Prince; brothers-in-law, Stuart (Cindy) Spence, Melvin (Marilyn) Spence, Eddie (Karen) Spence, Ernest (Thelma) Spence, and Samuel (Denise) Spence; father-in-law Arnold Spence. Leonard was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Lena Thomas; brothers, Stanley and Harold; sister Betty; brothers-in-law, Mortimer McCorrister, Arnold Favel, Arnold Spence, Vann Spence, Edward Sutherland, and Theodore McPherson; sisters-in-law, Maryann Spence, and Barbara Ann Spence; mother-in-law Margaret Spence. Leonard was born and lived most of his life in Peguis. He did contracting, building houses with his father and brothers. Leonard enjoyed and loved digging seneca roots, driving taxi anytime, day or night. He helped his family out by cutting grass, cleaning up and doing repairs for them. Leonard loved sports, especially hockey. He was a loving husband, dad and grandpa, who will be always loved and remembered. The family wishes to thank the Peguis Chief and Council, the Fisher Ambulance, and the Percy E. Moore Hospital staff and doctors for all their help and concern during our loss. A wake service will be held on Thursday, April 25 at 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 26 at 2:00 p.m. Viewing will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Both services will be held at the Peguis Apostolic Church, Peguis, MB, with Rev.
