Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryARCHIBALD DUNCAN DONALD PORTE 1921 - 2002 On Saturday, April 27, 2002 Archibald Duncan Donald Porte, aged 80, of Winkler, went to his eternal rest. Archie was born on August 10, 1921 in Plum Coulee, MB to Albert and Ida Porte. He was the first of five children. He was predeceased by his parents, son Keith Spencer Porte and brother-in-law Aime Chapdelaine. Archie will be sorely missed by his wife Alice Porte (nee Hildebrand) four sons, Gene and wife Cheryl, granddaughters, Tiffany, Stacey and husband Julian Kulbacki; son Bruce and wife Moira, granddaughter Meagan and grandson Adam; son Kim and wife Kimberley, grandsons, Jason, Colin and granddaughter Michelle; and son Kevin. He is survived by his sisters, Joyce Chapdelaine, Audrey, husband Cal Peppler, Faye, husband Abe Suderman and Sharon, husband Barry Mulvenny. On November 13, 1949, he was united in marriage to Alice Helen Hildebrand. They shared 52 and one-half years of love and marriage. They lived in Plum Coulee till 1956, then moved to a farm two miles south of Plum Coulee. In 1971 they moved back to town where he went into hauling water, dirt and gravel. Archie did this till 1990 when he sold his equipment and helped his sons in the plumbing business, doing retail sales till 2000 when he retired. He resided in Plum Coulee till 2000 then moved to Lions Manor in Winkler where he spent his final years. Archie loved to spend time with his relatives, family and especially his grandchildren. During Archies retirement, he enjoyed socializing and pool playing at the new Horizon with his many friends. During his spare time, he built toy horse carriages and collected toy tractors which he cherished dearly. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 3 at 2:00 p.m., at the Plum Coulee Bergthaler Church, with Rev. Glen Siemens and Menno Giesbrecht officiating. Interment will follow at the Plum Coulee Cemetery. Wiebe Funeral Home Winkler in care of arrangements. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude for the tremendous support that we have received from our relatives and friends. Your thoughts, prayers, visits and gifts of encouragement have been and continue to be greatly appreciated. Special thanks to Boundary Trails Health Centre and St. Boniface Hospital for their care and compassion.
