HUGH DOUGLAS STRACHAN Hugh Douglas Strachan, aged 77, Halifax, NS, died April 18, 2002, at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital. He was a former news editor and journalist with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in Halifax. He was born in Montreal and raised in Winnipeg. During the Second World War and in peacetime, he served with the RCAF in Canada and Europe. He attended the University of Toronto and St. Marys University in Halifax. Surviving are his wife Aileen (nee Smyth) sister Shirley Emerson and her husband Norman in Winnipeg; and two nephews, Russell and Wesley Emerson. Internment in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Halifax.
