Dad fought with stomach cancer for over five years with dignity and he never gave up. Through surgery and chemo treatments to hospital stay after stay he refused to concede. However as much as his mind and heart didnt want to give up his body had nothing left to give. He quietly and peacefully passed away at 7:49 p.m., May 5, 2002 surrounded and held by his children as he took his last breaths and slipped away into rest. Dad is a descendent of a great Canadian family, prominent in the settlement of New France, through the fur trade that built this great land and which made historic contributions to the establishment of the State of Minnesota in the USA and the province of Manitoba in Canada. He dedicated his time, kindness and unconditional love to us, his six children, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, yet he also found time to be with his beloved siblings, numerous cousins and nieces and nephews all across Canada in their times of need. His compassion had no limits.
