Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWALTER POST Walter Post, son of Arthur and Julianna, passed away suddenly at home on May 8, 2002. Dad was born June 13, 1914 in the Grass River area. He was baptized and confirmed in the Christ Lutheran Church, Waldersee. Dad attended Grassy River School and started farming at an early age. He married Sigrun Skanderberg on December 27, 1941 and they were blessed with six children. Dad retired in 1980, but continued to be very involved in his three sons farming operations. Dads hobbies were travelling with family, fishing, hunting, playing cards, yahtzee, and gardening. A special treat for our family was Dad playing the violin, one of his favourite tunes being "South Of The Border." To drive with Dad was an education on the past history of the area. One of his favourite sayings was "Would you look at that!" The highlight of any birthday or anniversary for Dad was to see his family all gathered around the table. He is survived by his wife Sigrun of 60 years and 4 and one-half months; four sons, Ron (Lorraine), Victor (Margaret Ann), Doug (Shirley), Danny (Margaret) and two daughters, Elene (Fred) and Lynne (Ron) 14 grandchildren, Sherri-Lynne, Darin, Lori-Ann, Ian, Steven, Kevin, Trevor, Donnie, Carolyn, Coralie, Candace, Dallas, Jodi-Lyn, and Cory; 16 great-grandchildren, Twyla, Meghan, Lisha, Amanda, Hannah, Mattias, Caitlyn, Brady, Brett, Wade, Madison, Brett, Zoey, Dawson, Zoe, and Noah; one brother Eddie (Donna) three sisters, Minnie, Violet (Fred) and Edna (Karl). He was predeceased by his granddaughter Lisa. Funeral service will be held on Monday, May 13 at 2:00 p.m. in Christ Lutheran Church, Waldersee, MB with Pastor Norris Nordin officiating. Interment will follow in the Waldersee Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Christ Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, Waldersee, MB, R0J 2G0.
