Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMICHAEL JACOB PODRUSKI Mike peacefully entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 23, 2002 at the Minnedosa Hospital. Mike was born September 12, 1912 in Erickson, MB to Antonia and Frank Podruski. After leaving school, Mike tried a few different jobs. In 1940 he started driving for Erickson Transfer from Winnipeg to Clear Lake. One winter he drove a car car transport from Detroit to Vancouver, then went back to farming. In 1952 Mike sold the farm and with his parents moved to the Basswood area. His parents moved to Minnedosa in 1965. Mike stayed on the farm until 1972. He sold the farm to Sid Cardy and moved to Minnedosa. In 1976 he married Adeline and they lived together in Minnedosa for the next 25 years. Although Adeline was the love of his life, restoring old tractors and tinkering with machinery was his second love. For many years Mike Participated in fairs and parades with his machinery. He was a permanent fixture in Austin at the Thresherman Reunion, always ready to lend a hand and give advice. You could always find him and Adeline at "Podruski Corner" at Austin. His case tractor would usually pull the Austin Womens Auxiliary float. He managed to get the whole family there participating or just visiting and having a good time. Mike loved to watch sports on t.v., but hockey was his favourite armchair sport. He would play just as hard as the players. Mike is predeceased by Adeline, his wife of 25 years; his parents Frank and Antonia; brothers Joe and Pete; sisters-in-law Mabel and Pearl; and brothers-in-law Mike Sawisky and John Scherbati. Mike is survived by stepchildren Diane and Robert; brothers Stan and Paul; sister Francis; and their families. Grandchildren Jamie and Kerry; and many in-laws. Also nieces and nephews. Thanks to all the special friends and neighbours that regularly visited and called.
