Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHAROLD WESLEY BEDFORD Peacefully, on Sunday, June 16, 2002, at Donwood Manor PCH, Harold Bedford, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary; sons, Jim (Helen) of Saskatoon, Richard (Susan) of Regina, and Doug (Debby) and daughter Mary-Lynne Thibert all of Winnipeg. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; brother Walter (Margaret) of Wetaskiwin, AB; sisters-in-law, Bertha, Mary, and Gladys; as well as nieces and nephews. Harold was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Jemima; brothers, Bill, Clifford, Norman, and Arthur; an infant sister; and son-in-law Doug Thibert. Harold was born on August 12, 1918 in the Napinka District, MB. He served overseas in England and Holland from 1941 to 1945 with the Royal Canadian Engineers. He was a life member of the Carpenters and Joiners Union 343 where he served as President and Business Agent until his retirement. He was also a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 7. He served as President and various other executive positions over the years and as Treasurer of RCL Zone 62 for many years. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 21 at 1:30 p.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. Legion Padre Paul Martin officiating, with members of the Carpenters Union and Legion as active pallbearers. Service will be full Legion Honours. Burial in the Military Section, Transcona Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
