GEORGE COLIN STRACHAN (Papa) 1918 - 2002 Suddenly on Sunday, July 14, 2002 at Jubilee Hospital in Vernon, BC, died at the age of 83. He is survived and sadly missed by his daughters, Sharon Zaal (Fred), Jane Barker, Pat Strachan (Kelly Takatch) grandchildren, Jay, Ryan and Corey Zaal, Terry, Sheri-Lynn and Tara Barker, Katie and Kevin Takatch; sister Jean Bauer; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his parents, George and Jane; his loving wife Shirley in 1988; and three sisters, Bessie, Sophie and Lily. George was born in Winnipeg, where he lived and worked until his retirement in 1983 from Winnipeg Photo. He moved to Vernon in 1990, where he much enjoyed his retirement years. George was an avid card player, loved music, enjoyed golf and the beach. He had a wonderful sense of humour. Though in later life he had declining health, he fought with determination and had a strong will to live. He was a devoted father and grandfather, who always put his family first. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him, and will be remembered in our hearts always. Goodbye Papa. Private cremation service arranged with VERNON FUNERAL HOME, (250) 542-0155.
