Percy leaves to mourn in his passing, his daughters, Maxine (Clifford) Anderson, Eleanor (Al) McKay, Florence (Mike Andruchuk), Darlene Thompson and Pam (Gerald) Houle; his sons, Ken (Sandra) Thompson, Doug (Karen) Thompson, Kelvin (Diane) Thompson and Allen Thompson; 28 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; his sister Victoria Moar. He also leaves to mourn many relatives and friends. Percy was predeceased by his mother Isabella Potter; his first wife Sylvia in 1950; his second wife Elsie in 1969; his son Reginald Thompson in 1968; and by his brother Gibson Thompson in 2000. Percy was born and raised in Little Saskatchewan First Nation. He later lived in Fairford, Ebb & Flow, Thompson and Winnipeg. He worked in construction for the City of Thompson for many years. Percy also worked for Dominion Lumber in Winnipeg. He had a great talent as a handyman always willing to help out any of his friends or family. Percy enjoyed spending his weekends at rodeos and pow wows. He loved music and especially dancing, and being a true "Thompson", he was a great teller of believable tall tales and always fun to be around. Percy loved to travel. However, Vancouver was his favourite destination as he visited there numerous times, his journeys included Arizona, and most recently Las Vegas and California. He was immensely proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family extends its sincere thanks to Dr. L. Chung and the Palliative Care Group on the 5th floor at the Seven Oaks Hospital who provided excellent care and support. A Prayer service will be held on Wednesday, July 24 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 25 at 12:00 p.m. with a viewing beginning at 11:00 a.m. Both services will be held at the Anderson Family Funeral Home, Railway Avenue, Ashern, MB, with Rev. Donald Gould officiating. Interment will follow at the St. Helens Anglican Cemetery, Fairford, MB.
