JUERGEN SCHROEDER Suddenly on September 1, 2002, Juergen Schroeder passed away peacefully at the age of 50. He leaves to mourn his wife of 26 years, Irene; his son, Michael; daughter-in-law, Roxanne, and two grandsons, Austin and Tristin. Also his mother-in-law, Leokadia Will. He also leaves behind his family in Germany: Dirk (Karin), Ulla (Manfred) and Tina (Marc) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind an extended family in Winnipeg. Juergen was predeceased by his mother Inge (1980) father Ernst (1982) and father-in-law Hermann (1984). Juergen was born on April 26, 1952 in Lemgo, Germany. In March of 1974 he arrived at Camp Shilo as a member of the German Army. On August 14, 1976 he married Irene (nee Will) at St. Johns Lutheran Church. The following year they celebrated the birth of their son, Michael. After spending a year in Germany, the family immigrated back to Canada in January of 1978. Juergen was proud to become a Canadian citizen in 1990. In August of 2001, he celebrated his silver wedding anniversary with family and friends from Germany and Canada. Juergen enjoyed his time with family and friends at Camp Neustadt. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He also enjoyed woodworking, especially his Rummoli boards, playing pool, bowling with the Gut Holz league at Roxy Lanes, spending time with his grandchildren, and golfing with his son, Michael and other friends. Juergen was employed for many years as the maintenance supervisor at Willmar Windows. Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 6 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 211 Kimberly Ave., with Pastor Bruce Gelhorn officiating. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment to follow in Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society in his name. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331
