Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCAROL ANN PRESTON Carol Ann Preston died on September 3, 2002 after her health rapidly deteriorated due to cancer. Carol leaves her lifelong companion, Thomas Sinclair, whom she dearly loved and cared for. Carol also leaves her father Don Lamont (Kathy) her sister Margaret; her brother Don (Thora) and their children, Signy and Kristjan; and the Sinclair family, John (Deborah), Michael (Norma), Judy and Sheila and their children. She was also a true and dedicated friend to many in long-term relationships. Carols writing and dry wit was enjoyed by many. She was for many years the associate editor of "The Beaver" magazine where she laboured with Chris Dafoe researching and writing about Canadian history, which was her passion. She found her home on the Red River on Assiniboine Avenue an ideal place to live and work. Her "history" of the river lot going back to 1812 is a typical piece of her excellent work. Carol received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Manitoba and then earned her Master in library science at the University of Toronto in 1972. She worked at the Hudsons Bay Library for 7 to 8 years before moving to "The Beaver" magazine. The family wishes to express utmost appreciation to Dr. Jack Lezack and his staff and to the entire palliative care team at Seven Oaks General Hospital. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 6 at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave. Please use Aubrey Street entrance.
