FRANZ (FRANK) SANTA It is with deep sadness, we announce the passing of Franz Santa at the age of 88 years at Seven Oaks Hospital on September 9, 2002. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Predeceased by his parents; son Ernie; and infant twin children, Hansel and Gretel. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 61 years Anna; his sons, Les (Marlene) and Frank (Roxanne) his grandchildren, Lori-Ann, Latzi, Charlene, Cheryl, Ashley and Lindsay; and great-granddaughter Nevada. Franz was born in Hungary, April 12, 1914. He was one of 12 children. He immigrated to Canada in 1956 at the age of 42 years with his wife Anna and their three sons. He was first employed with Quality Construction Ltd. for many years where he quickly learned his new trade stuccoing and plastering. He was also employed with J. Janzen Construction and later worked along side his son Frank in their own business, Waverley Painting and Decorating. Franz loved to go fishing and goose hunting and would always take his sons along. In his retirement years he remained active as a handyman and crafty, Mr. Fix It. He enjoyed spending time in his garden and took great pride in his many apple trees, he grafted from the start. Prayers will take place on Wednesday, September 11 at 7:30 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverley St. Funeral mass will take place on Thursday, September 12 in St. Ignatius Church, SW Corydon and Stafford at 1:30 p.m. Interment to follow in Waverley Memorial Gardens, 1501 Waverley St. We will never forget your loving smile and will always love you Grandpa.
