LIONEL GABRIEL (Nenakawekapo) August 1, 1932 - September 26, 2002 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Lionel Gabriel on September 26, 2002, at the age of 70 years. Lionel will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him, by his wife, children, brother, sisters, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. He leaves to mourn his passing, wife Helen of Winnipeg; daughters, Linda (Elmer), Lorna (Bill), Yvette (Michael) from Dog Creek, Susie (Lawrence) of Winnipeg; sisters, Clara Garneau of Ebb & Flow, Flora (Henry), Grace, Valerie (Elijah), Freda, Gertie (Wayne) of Winnipeg, Ethel (Robert) of Norway House; brother Joe of Winnipeg; godchildren, Geraldine Houle, Robyn Campbell, Lena Houle and Janet Houle. There are 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Lionel was a man who loved to joke and laugh. He was always helping others who needed his help. He holds a very special place in all the hearts of everyone who knew him and loved him. We miss him very much. Prayers and wake service will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2002, at 7:00 p.m. at the Aboriginal Funeral Chapel, 724 Selkirk Ave. at Parr. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2002, at 11:00 a.m. also at the Aboriginal Funeral Chapel. Interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery.
