DENISE LUCILLE MOREAU (nee OUELLETTE) Peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, it is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Denise Moreau on Monday, October 7, 2002 in the Riverview Health Centre at the age of 65 years. Denise is survived by her husband Andy of 32 years; her children, Suzette Prasek (Marlowe), Norm Carbonneau (Ingrid) and Lise Carbonneau; brothers, Moe (Cindy), Rolly (Bea), Roger (Rose), Larry (Anne), Ray, Bobby (Louisanne), Danny and Michael; one sister Frances Clarke (Peter). Grandma will be especially missed by her grandchildren, Andrew, Mackenzie, Michelle and Tanner. She was predeceased by her father Lionel, mother Clara, brother Gerald and sister Pauline. Denise moved to Winnipeg in 1970 from North Bay, ON and began her career with Cam Gard Supply as the executive assistant to the president. After graduating from the Canadian Institute of Management, she joined Reed Stenhouse in 1978 and retired in 1997 as vice president of finance and administration. Denise was involved with many associations throughout her career and was the president of Administrative Management Society and a director of Canadian Institute of Management Winnipeg Branch. Throughout her life, Denise enjoyed music, golf, crafts and helping others. Grandma held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren. She loved their company, revelled in their endeavours and soothed their sorrows. Since retirement Denise and Andy enjoyed the winter months in Palm Springs, CA where they made many friends who they became very close to over the past five years. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 10 at 2:00 p.m. in the St. Vital Roman Catholic Church, 1629 Pembina Hwy., Winnipeg, MB, with the Rev. Dr. Patrick Morand presiding. The family would like to extend special thanks to the Oncology Department at the Victoria General Hospital and the caring staff of the Palliative Care Unit of the Riverview Health Centre. Andy would like to thank their closest friends for their kindness and support during this very difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations in Denises memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7.
