Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELSIE PURSAGA (nee SOKOLOWSKI) December 30, 1921 - November 4, 2002 With all her family by her side, we announce the passing of Elsie (Mom, Grandma), at the Seven Oaks Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband John; parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. Sokolowski; and her brother Alexander Sokolowski. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Alex (Karen) and Lillian; and her four grandchildren, Janine, Joanne, Justin and Jared. Elsie was born in Winnipeg and lived all of her life in the North End. She worked 17 years for Health and Welfare Canada and retired in 1987. Mom loved to raise plants and do word searches. She also loved to knit and crochet, dill cucumbers, and make the best ever turkey dressing for her family. Elsie was a very caring mother and grandma who cherished her family deeply, and will be dearly missed. The family would like to thank Seven Oaks Emergency Ward and ICU for all their help and care of our mother and us as well. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 6, at 1:00 p.m., with viewing one-half hour prior, in the chapel of Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint). A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Glen Lawn Reception Centre.
