PAUL MAURICE DUCLOS
Date of Passing: Nov 06, 2002
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPAUL MAURICE DUCLOS Peacefully, on Wednesday, November 6, 2002, at the age of 90, Paul Maurice Duclos, our Dad/Pepere, passed away at Foyer Valade. He was predeceased by his first wife Yvonne Perron and his two children, Jeannine and Paul in 1938; and his second wife Cecile in 1991; also sister Germaine; and brothers Marcel, Augustin and Denis. He leaves to mourn his passing his nine children, Alice (Ray Therrien), Roger (Roselyne), Normand (Denise), Monique Oleschuk, Gerard (Rachelle), Gilbert, Jeannette (Gene Gelmich), Gabrielle (Alec Mackintosh), Marianne (Bill Leskiw). He also leaves 18 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He will also be sadly missed by his surviving sisters, Lucille and Annette; also sisters-in-law, Marie, Alphonsine, Irene, Florence; and brother-in-law Andre; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Maurice was born in Chambly, QC in 1912. He moved to Saskatchewan at a young age. He married Yvonne Perron in 1934 in Cadillac, SK where they had two children. The family moved to Manitoba where he settled on the family farm, and their third child, Alice, was born. A tragic house fire claimed the lives of his wife and two oldest children. Maurice was married to Cecile Carignan in 1944, and together on the family farm they raised eight more children. Maurice was a farmer who operated a mixed farm until his retirement in the mid-1970s. He was active in the local community club and St. Eustache parish. Dad happily worked hard all his life to provide a good life for his family. Dad loved to tell jokes or stories and play cribbage. He loved to socialize with friends and neighbours and play his fiddle at any social function or family gathering and his grandchildren loved to listen and dance along. But most of all Dad loved being with his children and their families. His sense of humour and "joie de vivre" will be truly missed. A special thank you to all the wonderful staff on the third floor of Foyer Valade for their warm and loving care of our Dad/Pepere over the last three years. Prayers will be said at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Rue DesMeurons, on Sunday, November 10 at 7:00 p.m. Mass in celebration of his life will be held on Monday, November 11 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Eustache RC Church, St. Eustache, MB. Pallbearers will be six grandsons. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Maurices memory to a charity of your choice.
