PAUL BRIAN WOODMAN SANBORN Peacefully on November 6, 2002 at the Grace Hospital, Paul Brian affectionately known as Sam passed away with his children at his side. Brian was predeceased by his parents, Paul (1977) and Lillian (1973) Sanborn; and his beloved wife Martha (nee Kullman) Sanborn (1984). He leaves to mourn his children, Paul, Jennifer, Susanne and sons-in-law, Tom Barnett and Lino Franz. He will be missed also by his cherished granddaughter Melanie. Brian was born November 9, 1935 in Winnipeg. Brians youth was spent growing up in the west end where he enjoyed playing a variety of sports. His passion for fastball earned him numerous awards. Brian met Martha and were married in 1960 and they raised their family in the west end. In 1957, Brian chose a career in the Winnipeg Fire Department. Brian was very honoured and committed to the Fire Department and spoke highly of those who he worked with. After many challenging and rewarding years, Brian retired as District Chief in May of 1993. During his life and retirement years, his passion for the outdoors involved him in many pastimes, hunting, fishing, curling and golfing. He loved to spend time with his family and cherished time and memories he made at the cottage. He will be sadly missed by his family, relatives and friends. A celebration of Brians life will take place at Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway, on Tuesday, November 12 at 2:00 p.m. with Chaplin Mark Young officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Firefighters Burn Fund, 303 - 83 Garry St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4J9 in memory of Dad would be greatly appreciated. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
