LEDA JULIA PODEALUK (nee DEMCHUK) It is with the greatest of sorrow that the family announces the passing of Mrs. Leda Podealuk of Beausejour, MB (formerly of Grandview, MB), at the age of 79. She died peacefully and quickly at the Health Sciences Centre on Saturday, November 9, 2002, with her family by her side. Leda will be sadly missed by her loving husband Henry; daughter Heni and son-in-law Dennis Hewitt; sons, Tom and Greg Podealuk; grandchildren, Nadya, David and Michael; brother Modest and sister-in-law Lorraine Demchuk; sister Larissa Hooley; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Leona and Nadia; and her parents, Maria and Demetrius Demchuk. Ledas family was extremely important to her and she supported everyone in their interests and education, offering encouragement and advice. Leda will be widely missed by the many hearts she touched throughout her teaching career and her community work with the St. James Anglican Church, Beausejour Health Auxilary, Beausejour Legion Auxiliary and the Beausejour Lioness Club. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 14 at 2:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Avenue East, Beausejour, with Rev. Jim Wolf officiating. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery on Friday, November 15 at 2:00 p.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ledas memory to the St. James Anglican Church, Beausejour, MB ROE 0C0 or to a charity of choice.
