WILFORD M. (SWEDE) MATTSON 1918 - 2002 On Sunday, October 27, 2002 at the St. Eustache General Hospital in St. Eustache, Quebec, Wilford "Swede" Mattson passed away at the age of 83 years. Swede was born in Winnipeg and received his education at Lord Selkirk and St. Johns Technical school. He was predeceased by his father Lars and mother Rena Mattson and sister Norma Ogston all of Winnipeg. Swede was employed by Canadair in Montreal in the Purchasing Department. He later was comptroller for the Audrey Morris cosmetics and Model Agency retiring in 1990. He loved his yard work as well as summer at the summer home at Half Moon lake in Quebec and winters in Florida and the Barbados. Swede was an outstanding athlete and played on a number of Provincial Championship Lacrosse teams with the Elmwood Pats Lacrosse Club. Also he played hockey in Winnipeg, England, New jersey, Quebec City and Montreal. A very serious eye injury terminated what could have been a very promising career in professional hockey. Swede was loved and will be missed by his loving family and many friends. SKOL!
