MARY EVELYN PRITCHARD September 1, 1922 - November 22, 2002 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on Friday, November 22, 2002 at the Charleswood Care Center. Mary was predeceased by her husband Dooley, her mother, father, five sisters, one brother and son-in-law Peter. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her four children, son Rance (Norma), daughter Sue, son Vernon (Lynn), and daughter Brenda (Bob), as well as eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren who loved her very much. Mary was born in Winnipeg on September 1, 1922. She chose to live in Winnipeg for her entire life. She married the love of her life, Dooley Pritchard, on May 23, 1941. They shared an unending love and had a wonderful life together for 59 years until his passing in March of 2001. Mary was a super cook and liked to bake and sew in her spare time. Throughout their marriage, Mary and Dooley travelled through Europe and went on Mediterranean and Caribbean cruises. These trips were bittersweet for her because, although she enjoyed them, she hated to leave her family. Mary was an exceptional caring mother to her four children. Their needs always came before her own. Her greatest achievement was her family. She was always so proud of us and our accomplishments. She taught us the importance of caring for family and others. She was a kind and gentle soul and our lives have been enriched because of that. She will be missed. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, November 26 at 1:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1858 Portage Ave. Interment will follow in the St. Pauls Anglican Church Cemetery, Middlechurch. The family would like to thank Dr. Oscar Domke for the care and compassion that he extended to our mother and father for over 40 years. We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to the wonderful staff at the Charleswood Care Center for the special care and love given to Mom. We appreciate the compassion given to us during this difficult time. LEATHERDALE GARDINER 1858 Portage Avenue 949-4872
