KAZIMIERZ SZKWAREK Kazimierz passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 21, 2002 at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 82 years. Kazimierz will be fondly remembered by his wife Rozalia of 56 years; sons, Ludwik Szkwarek, wife Lucy, children Michael and Theresa; Jozef Szkwarek, wife Candyce, children Jaclyn, Joseph and Kathryn; daughters, Zofia, husband Andrzej Szukiewicz, children Richard and Joanna (husband Alexander Smith and son Stephan) Kazimiera, husband Zbigniew Zapasek, children Gregory, James and Natalie; Maria, husband Michael Hawrylak, children Aemilia and Matthew; and numerous relatives in Poland and in Canada. He was predeceased by his parents, Kazimierz and Julia Szkwarek. Kazimierz was born in Zarubince, Poland in 1920. He served in the Polish Army as corporal from May 9, 1945 to February 12, 1946. He married Rozalia on July 21, 1946 and in October 1961 they immigrated to Canada with their five young children. The family initially arrived in Petersfield, MB and shortly thereafter moved to Winnipeg. Kazimierz worked and retired from Cowin Steel after 25 years of employment. The family wished to thank Dr. Clayton Dyke and his staff, the nurses and doctors from the Seven Oaks Hospital Emergency Ward and in particular the 5th Floor, Units 4 and 5 for their compassion and care. Prayers will be held Sunday, November 24 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 25 at 10:30 a.m. Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Ave. Interment will follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery.
