REGINA TARGOSZ September 15, 1929 - November 20, 2002 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mom, grandma and best friend, on Wednesday, November 20, 2002. Regina was predeceased by her husband Michael in 1979; and one son in infancy. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Ursula, Christine (son-in-law Greg) son Robert; and her granddaughters, Danielle and Jillian Chaykowski. Regina was born in Poland in 1929 and immigrated to Canada after the war. Mom was proud of her Polish heritage and passed on many ethnic traditions onto her children and grandchildren, especially an appreciation for our ethnic food: her perogies and cabbage rolls were second to none. Mom was a very resourceful person who always found a way to meet any challenge or hurdle any obstacle. This was especially true in the last few years when faced with the physical limitations as a result of a stroke. Despite all, she still managed to greet your with a bright smile that could melt your heart, particularly true when she saw her granddaughters Danielle and Jillian whom she adored. Now that bright smile shines as a bright star. The family wishes to extend its heartfelt appreciation and thanks to the caregivers who helped look after Mom during her stay at the Riverview Health Centre. Special mention to Moms primary nurses Mila and Kathryn and the wonderful staff of 4D: Mom considered you all as her extended family. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 25 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Cantius Roman Catholic Church, 846 Burrows Ave., with Rev. Fr. Henryk Uczniak officiating. Service will terminate at the church. A private family burial will follow. Flowers gratefully declined; if so desired, donations may be made in Reginas memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald St., Suite 200, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6. "You can shed tears that she is gone, or you can smile because she has lived. You can close your eyes and pray that shell come back, or you can open your eyes and see all shes left. Your heart can be empty because you cant see her, or you can be full of the love you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember her and only that shes gone, or you cherish her memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back, or you can do what shed want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on."
