Elle laisse dans le deuil son fils Raymond Poirier (Leslye), sa fille Denise Poirier (Gerald Dufault), ses soeurs, Marie (Donat) Bilodeau, Marcelle (Leo-Paul) Savaria, Yvette (Terence) McGuirk, Simone (Raymond) Smith, Lucille (William) Pelland, Rita (Aime) Dupas, Therese (Paul) Betournay, et Henriette (Rheal) Jubinville; un frere Georges (Lucille) Toupin; beaux-freres, Jean (Flora) Poirier et Michel Poirier; belles-soeurs, Therese (Archie) Voyer et Angeline Mager, deux petits-enfants, Danielle et Nicole Remillard; plusieurs neveux et nieces ainsi que leurs familles respectives. Marguerite est nee le 14 octobre 1918 a Gravelbourg, SK, mais elle passa sa vie a Saint-Boniface. Elle frequenta lAcademie St-Joseph et elle demeura a la maison pour appuyer la grande famille Toupin. Elle etait renommee pour ses repas faits a la maison, surtout ses delicieux desserts, ainsi que son sens dhumour. En 1945, Marguerite epousa Leo Poirier et ensemble ils ont eleve deux enfants, Raymond et Denise. Lorsque Leo devint malade, Marguerite travailla pour Eaton ou elle aimait rencontrer de nouvelles personnes. Leo est decede en 1974. Quelques annees plus tard, Marguerite epousa Marcellin Pierson qui est decede un an plus tard. Marguerite fut precedee par ses parents, Ephrem et Antoinette (nee Joyal) Toupin; sa soeur Cecile Lockwood; et son frere Joseph dans son enfance. Les funerailles auront lieu le mardi 26 novembre a 10h30 en la Cathedrale de Saint-Boniface suivi immediatement dune reception. La famille desire remercier les Docteurs Erhard et Lertzman pour leurs soins. Au lieu de fleurs, des dons memorials peuvent etre fait a la Fondation de recherche de lHopital general Saint-Boniface, bureau D1003 - 409, avenue Tache, Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6. MARGUERITE PIERSON POIRIER (nee TOUPIN) On November 23, 2002, Marguerite Pierson passed away at the age of 84 years at the Tache Centre in St. Boniface. She leaves to mourn her son Raymond Poirier (Leslye) and daughter Denise Poirier (Gerald Dufault), sisters, Marie (Donat) Bilodeau, Marcelle (Leo-Paul) Savaria, Yvette (Terence) McGuirk, Simone (Raymond) Smith, Lucille (William) Pelland, Rita (Aime) Dupas, Therese (Paul) Betournay, et Henriette (Rheal) Jubinville; one brother Georges (Lucille) Toupin; brothers-in-law, Jean (Flora) Poirier and Michel Poirier; sisters-in-law, Therese (Archie) Voyer and Angeline Mager; two grandchildren, Danielle and Nicole Remillard; as well as many nieces, nephews and their respective families. Marguerite was born on October 14, 1918 in Gravelbourg, SK but lived all her life in St. Boniface. She attended school at lAcademie St. Joseph and stayed home to help out with the large Toupin family. She was known for her homestyle cooking, especially her delicious desserts and for her keen sense of humour. In 1945, Marguerite married Leo Poirier and together they raised two children, Raymond and Denise. When Leo became ill, Marguerite started working at Eatons where she thoroughly enjoyed meeting new people. Leo passed away in 1974. Several years later, Marguerite married Marcellin Pierson who passed away within a year of their marriage. Marguerite was predeceased by her parents, Ephrem and Antoinette (nee Joyal) Toupin; her sister Cecile Lockwood; and brother Joseph in infancy. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 26 at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Boniface Cathedral. A gathering of family and friends will take place immediately following the service. The family wish to thank Drs. Erhard and Lertzman for their care. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Boniface General Hospital Research Foundation, Room D1003 - 409 Tache Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6.
