GARNET JAMES (BUD) PROCTOR Peacefully on November 23, 2002, Bud Proctor passed away with his wife Lilly by his side. Bud was born April 17, 1919, at Woodlands, MB, to Bert and Dolly Proctor. He lived his entire life at Woodlands until 1999 when Bud and Lilly moved to Winnipeg to be nearer family. He was a founding member of the Woodlands arm of Royal Canadian Legion No. 52 which later became Royal Canadian Legion Woodlands Branch No. 248. He was honoured with a lifetime membership. He was a Veteran who served four and a half years during the Second World War. Bud was very community oriented and served on most organizations in Woodlands during his lifetime. He knit many curling sweaters in his day as well as doing gorgeous needlepoint which family will cherish forever. He was extremely proud of his yard and gardens. Bud is survived by his wife of 55 years Lilly (nee Aune), daughters, Luanna Kotelko of Gordon, MB and Audrey (Grant) Lucier of Winnipeg; sons, Alan (Tammy) of Landmark and Paul of Stonewall; proud Pop to nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and one sister Berta Sinclair (Sonny Jeffrey) of Woodlands. Also surviving are in-laws, Olive and Jean Proctor, Violet Porteous, Dempsey (Sophie) Aune, Ruth, Ellen, Freda and Iris Aune. Bud was predeceased by four brothers and one sister. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 27 at 2:00 p.m. at the Woodlands Community Hall. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Dr. Roy, the staff at Ste. Anne Hospital and the homecare staff for their compassion and the quality of care provided to Bud. A special thanks also to Tracy and the staff at Res. 2 for their ongoing support. Donations in memory of Bud may be made to Association of Community Living, Stonewall, MB. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
