RONALD CARL LETKEMAN Peacefully, on Tuesday, November 26, 2002, Ronald Letkeman, aged 62 years, passed away at home after a courageous and lengthy battle with cancer. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 37 years, Carolyn; his daughter Cindy (Ron) Polinuk; and son Curtis; sisters, Esther (Richard) Kroeker, Alice (Alex) Tymkiw, Leona (Peter) Bartel, Eva (Ernest) Kehler, Grace (Clifford) Dempster, Gloria (George) Fuller; brother Dennis (Donalda) Letkeman; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his youngest brother Curtis Roy (1962), mother Margaretha (1991) and his father John (1997). Ron moved with his family to Petersfield in 1976, where he enjoyed life in the country. He loved renovating his home, working on cars, watching sports and taking care of his pets, especially his constant companion, his dog Lenny. Up until the time of his illness, Ron worked at Consolidated Fast Freight, Winnipeg, where he drove truck for many years. Ron was a kind and considerate man who was always willing to lend a helping hand to family and friends. He will be greatly missed and his memory will be cherished by all who knew him. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all their friends for the love and support shown during this difficult time. Thank you to the staff of CancerCare Manitoba, Dr. Leighton and the staff at the Selkirk General Hospital for all their care. In accordance with Rons wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. Rons honorary pallbearers will be Tom Roger, Bud Skinner, Willi King, Norm Hill and Marty Friesen. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, Rm. 109 - 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
