HJALMAR BENEDICT "BENNIE" LARUSSON April 30, 1932 - November 29, 2002 With heavy hearts we announce the death of Hjalmar Benedict "Bennie" Larusson on Nov-ember 29, 2002. After a short battle with cancer, he passed away peacefully at Seven Oaks Hospital in Winnipeg. Throughout his illness, Bennie kept his sense of humour and enjoyed the visits and phone calls with family and friends. Special thanks to cousin Dr. Hjalmar Johnson and long-time friends Ed and Mary Gacek of Vancouver for their visit. The family sincerely thanks Bennies sister-in-law Toodie (Diann Wallace) for her careful watch, love and companionship during his illness. Bennie will be remembered by his children: Luanna of Victoria, Delia (Paul) of Spain, Jerry of Seattle, WA, Dean (Rene) of Kelowna, daughter-in-law Sharon of Vancouver; his grand-children: Rebecca, Ben, Lianne, Kaitlyn, Brittany, Bailey, Brooklynn; numerous other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Donna, sons Chris and Ben, and daughter Beth Ellen. Bennie had many accomplishments in his lifetime and always enjoyed learning new skills. Among other things, he was a baker and a carpenter, and owned businesses in Churchill, Vancouver and Fernie, BC. Bennie completed the circle and moved back to Gimli a few years ago. He enjoyed travel to Costa Rica, Hawaii, Mexico, Cuba and Spain. Bennie will live forever in our hearts, especially as we recall many of the family stories. When youre sharing a cup of coffee with a friend and enjoying a particularly hearty laugh, remember him with love. At his request there will be no service. He was cremated and will be interred in the family plot in Gimli, MB.
