Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALEXANDER PROSKIW Peacefully, on Tuesday, December 17, 2002, at the Riverview Health Centre, Alexander Proskiw passed away at the age of 89. He is survived by his two children, Debbie and Gary; sister Lena Triethart (of Minneapolis) brother-in-law Emil Sterdan; sister-in-law Anne Sterdan; and brother-in-law Anthony Stachiw (of Ottawa). Alex was predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Maria; and by his wife Millie. Alex was born, educated and lived most of his life in Winnipeg. He started his career working for Universal Signs in the 1930s. During the war he volunteered for service in the Royal Canadian Air Force where he was trained as a navigator, and then went on to spend the rest of the war teaching aerial navigation at a variety of bases across Canada. After his discharge, he returned to Universal Signs and then Mediacom. He married Millie Sterdan, and together they raised their two children. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 21 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Flowers are gratefully declined. However if friends and family desire, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to their charity of choice. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
