BEULAH WINNIFRED SIMPSON With great sadness we announce the death of Beulah Winnifred Simpson, aged 72 on Monday, January 13, 2003 after a courageous battle with A.L.S. Beulah was born and educated in Brockville, ON where she first met her husband Bob in high school. She spent a year in hospital as a teenager but she was able to continue her education as a mature student and was employed by the departments of National Defense and Health and Welfare in Winnipeg. After her retirement she worked as a volunteer for the Manitoba Crafts Guild. She was also able to celebrate her heritage as a member of the Manitoba branch of the United Empire Loyalists Society. A devoted mother, Beulah travelled with her family covering most of Canada and the northern United States. Mrs. Simpson is survived by her loving husband Robert; her daughter Claire Zimmerman (Richard) of Steinbach; her son Jeffrey (Kim) of Pinawa; her son Scott (Ute) of Calgary; her daughter Andrea (Mackenzie) of Vancouver; her brother Orren of Brockville and six grandchildren: Matthew and Heather of Steinbach, Jenna and Steven of Pinawa and Julie and Emily of Calgary. Viewing will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, January 16 at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., Aubrey Street entrance. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Kildonan Presbyterian Church, 2373 Main St., with interment at Kildonan Cemetery. We wish to express our thanks to the staff of the fifth floor, of the Rehabilitation Hospital for their care during Beulahs last days. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the A.L.S.
