Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDWARD FRANK (TED) RADCLYFFE On January 17, 2003, after a brief illness, Edward Frank (Ted) Radclyffe passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 93 years. Ted was born at Bagot, MB, on February 6, 1909, the seventh child of Frank and Alice Radclyffe. He was predeceased by his parents; his first wife Helen (nee Booth) in 1971; second wife Bess (nee Smith) in 1988; sisters, Hope, Ruth and Ada; brothers, Jasper, Cyril and Paul. He is survived by his children, daughter Jo-Anne Arnold, husband Fred, grandsons, Jeffrey and Brent; son Robert, wife Sandra, granddaughters, Lauren, Carly and Amanda; also, numerous nieces and nephews. Ted was born and raised on the family farm. He moved to Winnipeg in 1934 and in 1939 married Helen Booth. Together they raised their two children. Ted enjoyed a long and successful career with the Imperial Life Assurance Co. He attained his C.L.U. designation in 1948 and was a proud supporter of the Winnipeg Life Underwriters Association serving as Secretary-Treasurer, Vice President, and in 1948 as President. He retired from Imperial Life due to illness in 1983. The company recognized Ted for 50 years of service. He lived the last 19 years of his life with the lingering effects of Guilliane Barre Syndrome, which caused him to be confined to a wheelchair during that time. The family would like to thank the staff on 3 West Grace Hospital for their kindness, care and compassion during Teds last days. A special thank you to Bruce Bulmer for his attention and friendship over the past 19 years; as well, all the home care workers who looked after Ted. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so desire, donations in Teds name may be made to the Grace Hospital Foundation, 300 Booth Dr., Winnipeg, MB R3J 3M7. Funeral service will be held at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., on Tuesday, January 21 at 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow the service. Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Arnold, Brent Arnold, Bruce Bulmer, Drummond Brown, Dennis Burch and Keith Burch. A Lucky Few A lucky few of us were able to call him Dad. A husband and father who gave us unfailing support and all of his love in so many ways. To many others he was "Uncle" Ted, "Grandad" or just "Ted." A cherished family member, a teacher and a good friend. All of our memories of him are fond. He left us with much for which we are grateful. We are all better people for having known Dad.
