LIL SMITH (nee ANDERSON) Lil Smith passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 21, 2003. She was predeceased by her daughter Debbie and beloved husband Wilf. She will be sadly missed by her three daughters, Bev (Luie), Carolyn, Sharon (Lorrie) grandchildren, Tegan, Marek, Karli and great-grandchildren, Bruce, Colin and Simon. She is also survived by sisters, Helga, Lea, Inga and Aldis; and brothers, Carl and Andy. Lil was born in Kandahar, SK, the sixth of 12 children. Lil moved to Winnipeg in 1941. One of her first jobs was at Eatons. She worked there for over 40 years and had many fond memories of her co-workers and the friends she made there. She met and married Wilf Smith, the love of her life in 1948. They moved to St. Vital where they raised their family and enjoyed the company and friendship of their warm-hearted neighbours. In the last few years, she enjoyed spending time at the Re-fit Centre, where she also made many new friends. Lil was happiest when she baking or cooking for her family and friends. Lil loved a good joke and will be remembered for her quick wit and sense of humour. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Victoria General Hospital for their care and compassion. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 27 at 3:00 p.m. in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lils memory to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave, Winnipeg, MB R3A 1P6. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
